Meet Rachel! She tells us about her breast cancer journey and her alternative route to healing. Thanks Rachel for sharing.

What type of Breast Cancer did you have?
I had her2/neu+, stage in, class III with LVI
Is your breast cancer in remission? If yes, when did you go into remission?
I went into remission January 2013
When were you diagnosed and at what age? Can you tell us a little about how you found out and the stage?
I was diagnosed at age 58. I discovered a tumor through self examination.
Can you tell us about your treatment and how that has gone? Were there any obstacles and how did you overcome them?
I had a lumpectomy and after hours and hours of research chose to go the alternative route of healing. I am very well rooted in my relationship with Jesus, I trusted Him for healing. He led me to an initial raw food lifestyle for 45 days to completely detoxify and then on on a whole food plant based lifestyle. I was cancer free by my first post op checkup at 60 days and have been since.

Do you have children? If yes, how did your journey affect your children?
I have a daughter and three grandchildren who were all completely supportive.
What has been the most helpful for you in the support you have received from family and friends? If any support.
I was not supported by anyone, I was called crazy and selfish even. I thought my husband and I were going to divorce over my choices. All of this was more difficult than cancer.
What message do you have for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer?
Research your options and make your own decisions.
What would you like to see for breast cancer patients in the future? How can the world help relieve the stress of diagnoses to remission?
The truth about lifestyle causes and the role nutrition plays in food being our medicine. Doctors need to be educated to prevent disease not treat it.
